The Client and The Choice of A Lawyer

When a client has a need for legal services do you tend intuitively to hire a lawyer or an office? That is, although the attorney is part of an office, would you hire him or the office?
Do clients hire lawyers or law firms?
Indeed, the answer depends on many factors, and would like to reflect on some of them.
Leaving aside the larger firms, which have a strong brand strategy, I think customers (at least at first contact) tend to hire the lawyer rather than the office. Even in cases where several client matters have been brought by different attorneys, it is possible that the customer has previously chosen the attorney before the release. A test of the contracting office is the replacement of one lawyer by another without the customer feel cheated in terms of recruitment. (more…)
