Learn how to find homes for rent including: homes by owner for rent, foreclosed homes for rent, hud homes for rent, low income homes for rent, etc… Read and follow the steps below to find a home for rent.

1. Get a newspaper and look through the real estate sections to find homes for rent. You will be able to find home listings posted by Realtors, Home Owners, Investors and other property managers and other rental companies that have home available for rent.

2. Look at online classified ads to find homes for rent. A company such as Craigslist.com is one classified website where you can do a search to find all types of homes for rent.

How to Rent your Home

If you’ve decided to rent your property on your own, without the help of an agent or management firm, follow these steps to better your chances of finding the ideal Tenant and still manage to rent the property in a timely manner.

1. Hire a landscaper just do it yourself. A few hours and a lawn mower can take your property from one in a crowd to a shining star.

2. Keep the unit in rent-ready condition.
For starters, you never want your property to sit without water and electricity; this is a no-brainer. Not only is it necessary for maintenance and security issues, having the utilities active will allow a much broader “showing” time frame; no one wants to show or see a property in the dark!

3. Make sure all indoor and outdoor lighting fixtures have working bulbs!

4. Be competitive in your rental rate. Review the local rental market for properties comparable to yours. For a quick rental, you will want to set your rate slightly below the market in your area.

5. Use technology to your advantage. While newspapers, word of mouth and yard signs work; you can definitely reach a broader range of prospect by using internet advertising, and emails.
Not only will you reach more people, but questions can be answered quickly and the entire process can move much more smoothly. (more…)
